Kick-off meeting

The Kick-off meeting of the project EVA Skills: “Evaluating the soft skills of unemployed youth” was held on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 in Nicosia, Cyprus.

The project aims towards the transfer of best practices of competence assessment that have been applied successfully in other European countries. It concerns the systematization of existing competence assessment methodologies in Germany and Sweden and the transfer and application of these methodologies to the other participating project countries. In addition, the project will also enable trainers and VET professionals to acquire training in methodologies and tools relating to the evaluation of soft skills. They will also be enhancing their role through a set of educational programmes that are based on learning outcomes and the validation of non-formally and informally acquired learning.

A detailed presentation with an overview of the project and the partners involved was made during the first transnational meeting, while extensive discussion with participation from all representatives of the partner beneficiaries followed on the management and implementation of the project, the allocation of responsibilities and the expected outcomes of the project.

The project will last a total of two years and is being implemented in the framework of Erasmus+ programme under the Action “Strategic Partnerships for vocational education and training”. The consortium is made up of the coordinator of the project: the Cyprus Productivity Centre and the following partner beneficiaries:

  • Institute of Entrepreneurship Development, Greece
  • Folkuniversitetet, Sweden
  • Business Foundation for Education, Bulgaria
